Western Energy Group was contracted by FMG for the AC Mould Remediation Program during 2023/2024. The project involved comprehensive audits of FIFO mining camps' accommodation assets. Western Energy Group's task was to address and remediate mould issues in air conditioning units and bathrooms. This involved detailed inspections and assessments to identify the extent of mould growth and ensure thorough remediation efforts.
Western Energy Group conducted deep cleans on AC units in over 3000 rooms, ensuring that each unit was meticulously cleaned to remove all traces of mould. Additionally, bathrooms in over 500 rooms were cut out and resealed to prevent future mould growth. This approach not only removed existing mould but also implemented preventative measures to protect against recurrence, enhancing the longevity of the facilities.
The successful completion of the project resulted in significantly improved air quality for the occupants and extended the operational life of the AC units. By thoroughly addressing and eliminating mould, Western Energy Group demonstrated its commitment to improving living conditions in FIFO mining camps.
